Think twice – stay off the ice!
EPCOR contacted our community about activity on a stormwater pond in our neighbourhood.
Please remember, it is NOT safe to walk, skate, toboggan or play on stormwater ponds.
These ponds are engineered to collect and move melting snow and ice from streets and sidewalks, which often include salts and other ice melt products, making the ice unpredictable and dangerous.
Additional warning signs have been installed around the facility, but please talk to your family about the dangers of playing on or near these facilities. More information is available at https://www.epcor.com/ca/en/ab/edmonton/safety/neighbourhood/stormwater-management-facilities.html
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
